About Victorian Respite

What is Victorian Respite?

Victorian Respite is Australia's first brand respite provider. We partner with premier hotels across Victoria to deliver high-quality, disability-friendly respite, short-term, and supported accommodation, combining the polish of hospitality with the rigour of tailored care.

We believe respite shouldn't feel like an institution. It should feel like a hotel you'd actually choose to stay in.

Who is Victorian Respite for?

Our stays are designed for anyone who needs accommodation that feels welcoming rather than clinical:

  • NDIS participants funded under STA, MTA, or SIL
  • Families and carers needing respite
  • Ageing individuals seeking short-term stays
  • Anyone in recovery, transition, or post-hospital periods
What makes you different from other respite providers?

Three things. First, our partner hotels, they're premier-tier properties, screened for accessibility, comfort, and discretion. Second, our coordination, every guest is fully onboarded by a dedicated Relationship Manager who remains the primary contact throughout. Third, our standards, we bring hotel-grade hospitality to a service category that traditionally hasn't had it.

Services & stays

What types of stays do you offer?

Six options, each tailored to the individual:

  • Respite Care, Short-term stays for carer relief
  • Short-Term Accommodation (STA), Up to 14 days
  • Medium-Term Accommodation (MTA), Up to 90 days
  • Supported Independent Living (SIL), Ongoing support
  • Personalised Meal Plans, Dietary, cultural, medical
  • Recovery Stays, Post-hospital and transition
How long can a stay be?

It depends on the type of stay. Respite and STA stays are typically up to 14 days. MTA stays can run up to 90 days. SIL arrangements are ongoing. Recovery stays are flexible, built around your specific needs and timeline.

Where are your partner hotels located?

Across Victoria. The specific property is confirmed during the booking process, matched to accessibility requirements, location preferences, and stay length.

What's included in a stay?

Every stay includes accommodation in a partner hotel, dedicated Relationship Manager coordination, accessibility-first room design, personalised meal arrangements, and care or concierge support as required. Visiting supports (therapists, support workers, healthcare) can be coordinated alongside, but are arranged separately to suit your existing supports.

Bookings & eligibility

How do I make an enquiry?

Email enquiries@victorianrespite.com.au or use the contact form on our website. Our concierge team responds within one business day to every enquiry. We'll then guide you through suitability assessment, available dates, and booking confirmation.

Do I need an NDIS plan to stay?

No. While many of our guests use NDIS funding (STA, MTA, or SIL), we also welcome private guests, families seeking respite, and individuals in recovery or transition. Stays can be funded privately or through compatible funding sources.

What does the booking process look like?

Four stages:

  • Before arrival, Enquiry, eligibility assessment, support needs review, behavioural and environmental screening
  • Booking & security, Dates confirmed, booking pack issued, funding or payment secured
  • During stay, Your Relationship Manager remains primary contact, coordinating supports and resolving issues
  • After stay, Feedback, reporting, and rebooking
Can a support worker or family member stay with me?

Yes, in most cases. This is arranged on a per-stay basis depending on the partner hotel and the room configuration. Let us know your requirements in your initial enquiry.

Practical considerations

How accessible are your partner hotels?

Every partner property is screened for accessibility before we offer stays there. Specific room configurations, bathroom layouts, and assistive equipment needs are matched to each guest during booking. See our accessibility statement for more detail.

Can dietary, cultural, or medical food requirements be accommodated?

Yes, that's the whole point of our personalised meal plans. We document your requirements before arrival and coordinate with the hotel kitchen to ensure meals are nutritionally balanced, varied, and aligned with your preferences.

What about visiting healthcare or therapy?

We coordinate visiting supports, therapists, support workers, and healthcare providers, invisibly alongside your stay. You bring your existing supports; we make sure they have what they need to work with you on-site.

Who do I contact during a stay if something comes up?

Your dedicated Victorian Respite Relationship Manager. They remain the primary contact from booking through to feedback after stay. Hotel staff focus on hospitality; everything else is on us.
